PHAROS at CIIMAR Open Day

PHAROS at CIIMAR Open Day 150 150 PHAROS Project

On September 20, CIIMAR hosted its Open Day, an event that brought science beyond the laboratory. Through a wide range of scientific and recreational activities focused on the aquatic environment, CIIMAR researchers had the opportunity to share their work and knowledge with the general public. Our team hosted a stand featuring hands-on activities related to marine litter and fishing gear, while also promoting the PHAROS project.

At our stand, visitors of all ages joined hands-on activities about marine litter and fishing gear, learning how litter affects ocean life and what each of us can do to reduce it.

More than 20,000 visitors also learned about the Fisher Guardians program, an initiative that turns fishers and fishing cooperatives into active protectors of the sea.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and wanted to know more about the PHAROS project!
