This event will spotlight PHAROS’s innovative integration of Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and Smart Enhanced Reefs, focusing on their contributions to marine biodiversity, climate change mitigation, and the advancement of sustainable ocean economies.
The session will delve into the project’s emphasis on citizen science and stakeholder engagement, utilizing the Quintuple Helix Innovation model. A key highlight will be the demonstration of the MINKA platform, a citizen science tool developed by CSIC for collecting biodiversity and environmental data. MINKA combines ICT cloud services with stakeholder engagement methods to create long-term communities of practice, ensuring the sustainability of local projects beyond the PHAROS timeline.
Participants can anticipate an in-depth exploration of how PHAROS leverages these approaches to address pressing oceanic challenges. The session aims to inspire collaborative efforts and active participation in marine conservation initiatives.
