European Ocean Week: Citizen Science and Stakeholder Engagement

PHAROS will participate in the European Ocean Week on January 22, 2025, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET. This online event, hosted as part of the Mission Ocean and Waters Weekly Hour, will highlight innovative approaches to marine sustainability and stakeholder collaboration.
Initially planned to showcase how PHAROS integrates Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and Smart Enhanced Reefs for biodiversity restoration, the session’s focus has been revised to emphasize Citizen Science and stakeholder engagement.
The webinar will explore key topics, including:
Engaging stakeholders from the Quintuple Helix Innovation model (academia, industry, government, civil society, and the environment) in Citizen Science projects.
Leveraging MINKA as a platform to facilitate meaningful participation and collaboration.
Highlighting initiatives such as Blue Schools, NetTag (fisher engagement), and Remedies (citizen entrepreneurs).
This session underscores the importance of collaboration between diverse stakeholders and innovative solutions like Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to drive impactful actions for our oceans.
Join us for a thought-provoking discussion that connects science, technology, and citizen involvement to address challenges like marine biodiversity loss and climate change.
