With a clear vision of driving the future of offshore renewables, the company develops solutions that combine reliability, scalability and sustainability. EnerOcean aims to make floating wind a competitive and accessible technology, supporting a cleaner and more resilient energy system worldwide.
The company is committed to innovation, focusing on creating reliable, scalable, and efficient floating solutions that respond to modern challenges in offshore technology.
EnerOcean in PHAROS
Their business scope covers from resource analysis, feasibility studies, key enabling technologies development, for example, condition and structural monitoring for marine energy devices, technology development as we are doing with W2Power floating wind platform and finally commercial exploitation of marine energy facilities, farms. The W2Power concept is to be the most cost-effective floating wind solution, by reducing the global cost of energy, but also considering other options like multiuse (aquaculture, energy storage, wave energy, etc).
EnerOcean contributes to the PHAROS project through its expertise in offshore renewable energy and multi-use platforms. Within Work Package 3, EnerOcean supports the technical integration of aquaculture systems with floating wind, advising on feasibility and system compatibility, including auxiliary systems like monitoring and communications architecture used in offshore applications. In Work Package 5, EnerOcean provides insight into commercial exploitation models and how PHAROS solutions could be aligned with future real-world offshore operations and projects exploitation.

Additionally, the company contributes to project management, dissemination and communication activities, reinforcing PHAROS’s capacity to reach its goals of promoting sustainability and innovation in the marine environment.

Bridging Innovation and Action for Ocean Mission Goals by 2030
PHAROS is a dynamic, action-oriented project designed to contribute substantially to the European Union’s ambitious Ocean Mission objectives. These objectives focus on three critical areas to be achieved by 2030: protecting and restoring marine ecosystems and biodiversity; preventing and eliminating ocean pollution; and fostering a sustainable blue economy that is carbon-neutral and circular. The EU Mission Implementation Plan divides this journey into two intensive phases: an initial development and piloting phase by 2025, followed by a deployment and upscaling phase from 2026 to 2030.
PHAROS serves as a vital stepping stone that bridges these two phases, building on earlier foundational projects from 2021 and 2022. The project integrates innovative Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) through four demonstration pilots across the Atlantic and Arctic basins (AA basin), with plans to replicate these initiatives broadly. PHAROS also advances the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of existing H2020 and Horizon Europe Mission projects, serving as a launchpad for extensive rollout and scaling across the AA basin.
Grounded in the EU’s European Green Deal, PHAROS embraces the concept of restoring the hydrosphere, a single, connected system of oceanic, coastal, and inland waters covering around 75% of the Earth’s surface. PHAROS follows three foundational pillars crucial to meeting its ambitious goals: public mobilisation, innovation and technology, and valorisation of solutions. The project consortium unites leaders from highly innovative and replicable initiatives under prior European funding frameworks, ensuring a wealth of expertise and collaboration.
